152 Sqn Crest

152 CITY OF HULL SQUADRON

As Air Cadets, we take part in lots of exciting activities.

Here are some of the things we do regularly.

Flying
We are regularly given flying opportunities for some cadets to go up in a small aircraft and take control. The first time, you will learn the basics of controlling the plane and later on, you might want to try some aerobatics. Cadets usually get at least one turn each year.

Shooting
At 152 squadron, we have our own range where cadets shoot at a target through a tunnel. You will start by learning how to use the rifle and will take a short test to make sure you know how to use it safely. You will then be able to use the range when chosen and progress onto more advanced rifles.

Sports
We take part in lots of different sports, so there's something for everyone. Athletics, football, rugby, hockey and netball are just some of the sports we compete in, but we also have our own sports nights about once a month where we choose what to do.

Projects
Thursday night is projects night where cadets at 152 squadron can choose what they want to do. We have several groups of people working on different things. Perhaps you could learn to play a musical instrument? Or learn to use a two-way radio? Maybe you'd like to make models from different materials? It's up to you!

Camping
We regularly send cadets to UK and overseas camps where you can meet other cadets from all over the country but we also organise our own camps. For example we go on adventure weekends to the Lake District and help out at Airshows. Cadets can also take part in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award which requires you to plan and complete your own expedition.
